Internship opportunities at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cyprus to the UN, New York

Undergraduate/postgraduate students may apply for an internship at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Nations in New York, throughout the year.

Applicants are required to:

(a) hold Cypriot citizenship,

(b) have completed at least a two-year university course (i.e. 60 ECTS),

(c) have very good knowledge of the Greek and English language.

Internships are unpaid and do not incur financial burden for the State in allowances, insurance cover, etc.

Application forms must be sent either to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by e-mail at internship@mfa.gov.cy, or to the Permanent Mission of Cyprus at internhsips@cyprusun.org

The applicant’s details will be kept on file and they may be invited to an interview if shortlisted, depending on their qualifications, experience, and skills. Applicants may also be offered the possibility of an internship for an alternative period.

Interns are required to sign a Contract on a non-remunerative basis, which will include, inter alia, a confidentiality clause in respect to data and information that may come to their attention during the internship period.

Personal

Andreas Hadjichrysanthou was born on 23 November 1958 in Nicosia, Cyprus. He was educated at the Pancyprian Gymnasium of Nicosia. He attended Strasbourg University II where he gained a “Maîtrise en Sociologie”. He subsequently gained a “D.E.S.S. en gestion” in Strasbourg University III, and a “Diplôme de Hautes Etudes Européennes”at Strasbourg University III.
