Letter dated 24 December 2003 from the Secretary-General to the President of the Security Council
I have the honour to refer to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
As Lieutenant General Jin Ha Hwang (Republic of Korea), who has been the Force Commander of UNFICYP since 16 January 2002, will relinquish his post on 25 December 2003, I have decided to appoint Major General Herbert Joaquin Figoli Almandos (Uruguay) as the next Force Commander of UNFICYP.
I should be grateful if you would bring this matter to the attention of the members of the Security Council.
