President Christofias will address the General Debate on 25 September, the opening day of the UN General Assembly. The Tenth United Nations Conference on the Standardization of Geographical Names was held at the UN headquarters in New York from 31 July until 9 August, and the Twenty-Seventh Session of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names was held in New York on 30 July and 10 August 2012. The UN General Assembly on June 21 2012, adopted the annual budget of all peacekeeping operations including UNFICYP’s, for the period July 1 2012 –June 30, 2013. The total funding approved for all 14 UN peacekeeping operations amounted to 7 billion U.S. dollars while the financing of the peacekeeping force in Cyprus for the above period amounts to 56.97 million U.S. dollars.
